Train Your Dog with Cowal Mantrailing

My Finnish Lapphund and I are enjoying the mantrailing training very much.

It is a different activity to try with your dog and provides plenty of physical exercise plus training the dog to use its brain.

Nicola explains everything clearly and is very professional.

 Having an unemployed Working Cocker Spaniel led us to give Mantrailling a go....and despite a few hiccups (mainly on the part of the handler being unable to follow even the most basic of instructions!) we absolutely love it. Seeing the dogs progress week to week, and the pure joy on both the dogs and their handlers faces when a trail is successfully finished, is absolutely amazing.
Nicola is phenomenal. She's so patient and understanding and has a way of bringing the groups together. Whether you're out trailing for the first time, or a long standing member of the team, you'll be made to feel part of the family from your very first session.
Be prepared to be out in all weathers (mispers don't wait until the sun's out!) and get ready to have a full on session, where your Fitbit will probably tell you you're clinically dead (or maybe that's just me!), whilst enriching your dogs life at the same time!

I have been Mantrailing with my Working Cocker Spaniel for the last few months under the guidance of Nicola. I have found the experience beneficial giving my young dog the opportunity to ‘work’. Nicola has been so helpful, and patient, in taking the time to help us get started, gain the necessary skills, and guide me in learning to read my dog whilst she is working. 

Overall I have found Mantrailing has had a positive influence on my young dog. During which, I have developed a stronger  connection with my dog, it has had a positive impact on building her concentration span whilst working amongst distractions (including around another dogs), and importantly allowing us to have really fun days out.

Eureka!  I’ve found it at last. Mantrailing, a totally satisfying and fascinating activity that I can enjoy with my dog, that doesn’t need super fit human or particular inbred dog traits: truly open to all. Enjoying watching my dog gain confidence and enjoyment in an engrossing scenting activity, while I learn so much more in depth knowledge and understanding of my dog and the environment we traverse. Cowal Mantrailing comes with excellent Instructor and mento and the company of like minded participants and their canine companions. If you have a dog, enjoy a good walk give it a go. You won’t regret it.
